How long does FIFA 22 Career Mode last?

The Career Mode in FIFA 22 is a game mode that offers you the chance to play through a lifelong football career. Career Mode is split into two different areas, Manager Career and Player Career.

Make the most of your FIFA 22 Career Mode experience

EA’s virtual soccer simulator is back for another year and FIFA 22 brings with it some interesting updates to Career Mode, which is easily the most popular part of the FIFA experience outside of Ultimate Team. In this year’s version of the game, players are able to create their own club and customize its aesthetics and board expectations.

You can bypass training days now

It’s a tiny tweak, but by selecting the Advancement Interruptions option in the main Career Mode screen, you can now summon an option to bypass training days when you’re simulating your season. This means you don’t have to go through the arduous process of being halted and forced to quick sim every training session.

Interactive match sim is your best friend

This feature arrived in FIFA 21 but it’s still just as revolutionary. If you choose to simulate a Career Mode match you can now watch over it on a Football Manager-style screen, and jump in whenever things aren’t going as well as you might have hoped.

Build a relationship with your manager

If you prefer Player Career over Manager Career, my first piece of advice is to play as your own created player rather than an actual player. This is because it opens up a whole skill tree, an attribute selection screen and gives you perks to unlock.

Focus on the Right Attributes

Rather than trying to build your perfect player right from the start, you should focus on the most important attributes for your position and build from there. Player growth in FIFA 22 is definitely a process and you shouldn’t rush it.

Choose Your Best Archetypes and Perks

Archetypes are badges you can equip that essentially represent the peak of a particular type of player. You have to work your way down a specific skill tree to get to the one (or two) archetype found on the bottom. They require more skill points than any other upgrade but they also provide a big attribute boost.

Take Your Training Seriously

In Career Mode, training plays a crucial role in both developing your player and getting more playing time. Each training session will get you more XP which will increase your level and get you more skill points. It will also increase your Manager Rating and keep you in the starting lineup.

Play as Many Games as You Can

Finally, you should avoid simulating games since this provides very little XP. In your early career, you’ll want to play every possible game to maximise the XP gained and progress more quickly.

Final Word

These FIFA 22 Career Mode player growth tips are pretty much all you need to do to progress in the game as a player.

Identify the Players With High Potential

The first thing you need to know is how to recognize which players actually have a shot of reaching the ceiling you want them to reach. You can’t really see their expected potential anywhere, at least not expressed in anticipated overall ratings.

Use Player Development Plans

One of the best ways to develop young players in FIFA 22 is to micromanage their progress through Development Plans.

Give Your Players Enough Minutes

No matter how much attention you give to Development plans, training, or player chats, giving your player minutes on the field will have the most dramatic effect on his development.

Keep Their Match Sharpness, Morale, and Form High

If you do decide do play your youngsters consistently, do your best to keep them in form.

Final Word

Having a young talent in your squad is something you shouldn’t let go to waste. You need to make sure you maximize his potential and give him the playing time he needs to develop into a superstar.

Re: Customized squads and created players deleted in Career mode - FIFA 19

It happened to me the first time I tried it too. What you need to do is hit the cancel button as the game is downloading the latest squad update, then you’ll be able to start your career with your edited squads. Create backups for your edited rosters as the game will sometimes save the update over your roster save. Hope that helps.

Re: Customized squads and created players deleted in Career mode - FIFA 19

Glad you were able to play the game your way. I spend hours editing my squads before I start a career so it was very frustrating when the game saved the update over my roster. Now I make several backups to protect my edits from being deleted. Have fun my friend!

Re: Customized squads and created players deleted in Career mode - FIFA 19

This happened to me too, I spent ages editing my teams, squads and stadiums, saved them (don't know why stadiums like Hampden, Parkhead and Ibrox aren't in it anyway) and went to start a career mode and it is all gone and when I load my saved squads it doesn't work it must have saved over them! Can't explain how raging I am at this, absolute joke!

Re: Customized squads and created players deleted in Career mode - FIFA 19

I finally finished my story with Alex Hunter and now trying to play career mode ( Dont really do FUT) and after hours of changing things. Getting my Celtic where they should be and them * down the street. I go to create my players and edit a few more teams and boom it was all for nothing.

Re: Customized squads and created players deleted in Career mode - FIFA 19

Gonna try again but which button is the cancel button? Spent ages tweaking squads thought I saved then ugh it downloaded as I started a new Career Mode ugh.

Re: Customized squads and created players deleted in Career mode - FIFA 19

I'm insanely enraged at this because it is the second time it has happened and I had spent days beforehand editing and creating custom players. I wish that EA would make it clearer what to do in this situation and I am furious at them for not doing so.
