In order to play with friends, go to Friendlies in the Play section and then you can select couch play or face a friend online. From here, select your teams and you’re good to go. If you want to change it up a bit, press Triangle or Y to add a controller in Draft, Rival, and Squad Battles.

Fifa needs to be able to connect up to 8 friends who can play against each other how they please. 7v1, 4v4, 3v5 etc. And if 8 is a stretch, at least give the option for 4 friends to connect.
