FIFA 22 Ultimate Team Tips And Tricks: Best Formations, Attacking, Defending, Chemistry Styles, And Best Starter Players

FIFA 22 has launched and the football simulator brings a lot of familiar mechanics, but also introduces some new ones! No matter whether you’re a novice or expert, there’s a number of things you can learn in and out of the game to improve your efforts.

Best FIFA 22 Formation And Tactics

Every year, there are one or two formations that tend to work much better than normal. I would always advise you to pick a formation that compliments your playstyle:

Chemistry And The Best Styles

If you know how Chemistry works, this isn’t for you, so feel free to skip this.

Complete SBCs To Get A Better Team

Before you even get started, you should be looking to complete the default SBCs that are present in the game. This is because they always pay out very handsomely. Yes, they can take a bit of effort to complete, it took me about 4/5 days to complete them. But, once I had done them I had a ton of coins to build a brilliant team (as seen above).

Get Agile Players

It’s something that has been quite “meta” for a few years now, but getting players with high agility is important. That doesn’t mean you need to get a full 11 with 90+ agility, but it’s helpful to have agile players if they’re going to be turning and moving a lot.

Attacking

When you’re in attack, you’ll want to exploit areas of weakness in your opponent’s defence.

Defending

Defending requires far fewer actions, but requires so much more concentration. It’s not as simple as pushing a button and winning the ball, you’ll need to outthink your opponent and limit their options.

Upgrade Your Team Wisely

This first tip may seem a bit obvious, but it's worth mentioning. Consider which players are really going to make the difference for your club when deciding to upgrade. For example, if you're running a Serie A squad, the best left-back available is Theo Hernandez, but at the start of the game, he'll run you over 50,000 coins.

Bronze Pack Method

Look, the BPM isn't going to make you rich overnight. Instead, think of it as a form of a mutual fund. You almost cannot lose money using the BPM in FIFA 22, but the profit you slowly earn over time can turn into massive coins or assets over the course of the year.

Discard Team of the Week

This is our biggest money-maker during the course of the year. Once we build up a decent nest egg from BPM, we switch to doing this almost exclusively. Basically, you're looking for Team of the Week players who are in a decent league, rated above 82 OVR, and are selling for discard.

Invest During Rewards

If you want to play in a more volatile market, it's hard to go wrong with investing during rewards. Basically, what you're doing is looking for either popular meta players or popular SBC fodder and purchasing them while others are opening a ton of packs.

It's time to squad up with FIFA 22 Ultimate Team

FIFA 22 is here and with it arrives a whole new year of Ultimate Team, EA’s microtransactions machine. It’s not for everyone, but if you do get into it, there are a few things you should know about this year’s offering before you start building a fearsome squad to take on the world in Division Rivals.

Focus on your objectives early

It sounds obvious but you're going to want to start grinding through your objectives as soon as you get access to Ultimate Team, especially if you’re not planning to spend any money on FIFA Points. The foundational tasks are especially good for picking up coins and packs when you start out.

Division Rivals is worth playing even if you lose

This year EA has brought some changes to its major competitive online Ultimate Team mode, Division Rivals. Now, even if you lose, you’re part of a seasonal progression system that resets every so often, and you gain rewards for just playing matches and meeting milestones.

Interesting teams are more viable

FIFA 22 is much slower than last year’s game, which is good news if you hate players who abuse pace and skill moves to win matches. It means that more interesting teams are viable, and footballers with high physical or dribbling stats can be really strong going forward.

Engage with your stadium customization

It’s not going to make you a better player, but EA has added a few new tweaks to the stadium customization system in this year’s Ultimate Team, and they’re actually worth digging into.

How long does it take for a player to get a fix on FIFA?

When a Player gets stuck after you’ve bought or sold it on the Transfer Market, it should be automatically corrected within 72 hours. After 72 hours passes, check your Trade Pile or Watch List to see if your Items appear. If you don’t get the Item after 72 hours, the FIFA game team will try to regrant the Item.

Is UCL rare in FUT 21?

There is one exception to this: UEFA Champions League (UCL) Rare/Com mon Player Items in FUT 21 will exist in packs alongside their base version equivalents. That means that you’ll have the chance to either get the UCL Rare/Common version or the base version of a Player Item when their UCL version is available in-game.

2. Create-a-club is brilliant

Career mode now offers the option to create your own club, and add them to any league in the game – replacing an existing team. And it’s great! You choose your name, rival, crests and home and away kits.

3. Potential is everything

Fancy taking on an established side, rather than making your own club? Then long-term career mode success is all about building for the future. We’ll have a more detailed guide soon, but for now these are the ten players in career mode with the highest potential. The first score is their current rating, the second their overall potential score.

5. Dump your 75-81 rated gold cards

While discard-price silver and bronze cards should be held onto until required for Squad Building Challenges (SBCs), 75-81 rated golds can be dumped on the transfer market immediately.

6. All La Liga is a good way to go

One final Ultimate Team tip concerns the make-up of your team. Chemistry is imperative, and the easiest way to max it out is by assembling a starting line-up comprising players from a single division.

7. Finesse shots from distance are the meta

Improved keepers are a highly pleasing aspect of FIFA 22. You see fewer rebound goals, they’re adept in one-on-one situations, and behave more realistically in general, claiming crosses and tipping balls over or wide. It means that old goalscoring exploits have largely been nerfed, but that hasn’t stopped the community from searching for new ones.
