NEW SKILL MOVES

Four new skill moves have been added to FIFA 18 - check out the video above to see them in action.

ONE-STAR SKILL MOVES

These skill moves can be done by every single player in the game - including goalkeepers.

TWO-STAR SKILL MOVES

The two-star skill move list is open to many outfield players, and includes a lot of useful tricks that can gain you extra space in midfield or help you beat defenders out wide.

THREE-STAR SKILL MOVES

There are only a few three-star skill moves, but these are quite useful when in close proximity to defenders. These are used a lot out wide to give extra space to put a cross into the area.

FOUR-STAR SKILL MOVES

Four-star skill moves are more difficult than the lower levels and also look more impressive when you pull them off. The spins and feints can be used to outsmart the defenders, allowing you to get room for a shot or cross.

FIVE-STAR SKILL MOVES

The five-star skill moves are only performed by a small number of players in the game. These are the most difficult tricks to perform in real life, and in FIFA 18. Some of them require a lot of practice before you can get them perfect, but anyone who can use them properly should be unstoppable.

PLAYERS WITH FIVE-STAR SKILLS

Neymar's transfer to PSG from Barcelona mean that the Ligue 1 giants now have the most five-star skillers in FIFA 18 with three players capable of doing every skill move, while Bayern Munich and Juventus have two players each.

Line Of Sight Is Important

Regardless of your shot type and power, you need a clear line of sight for the best shot. Obviously if someone is right in front of you, they’ll block your shot.

Body Shape And Movement Speed Is Important

If you shoot the ball at a full sprint, it becomes harder to time the aiming and power. You carry your momentum into your shots, so try to keep that in mind as you ready yourself for the finish.

Near Post Vs Far Post

In FIFA 17, you shot to the far post diagonally most of the time. It was what worked.

Shot Power Tips

The further you are from goal, the more power you need to generate. If you’re outside the box, two-to-three bars of power (depends on distance and player) will do it. Aim for the top corners to make the keeper jump and stretch far.

Shot Selection Tips

Outside the box straight shot? Do it regularly, with two-to-three bars of power.

1. Flick Up

The Flick Up is relatively simple to pull off, and is used primarily for goalscoring opportunities from long range, although it's also useful for setting up chip shots inside the box. It allows you to flick the ball into the air for a first-time volley, which can prove lethal with star forwards.

2. Simple Rainbow

The Rainbow has become a staple of FIFA’s moveset over the past decade, and remains both a highly effective and simple trick to carry out. Again, you’ll need to use the right-stick for this one, flicking it backwards and then forwards twice to perform it successfully.

3. Heel Chop

It’s not uncommon to find online players using the Heel Chop to exhaustion, primarily because of its consistency at fooling defenders. It allows you to switch direction quickly without any loss of control and, more often than not, your opponent is left playing catch-up after failing to read the move.

5. Ball Roll Cut

This four-star skill is similar to the aforementioned Heel Chop but, this time, you’re rolling the ball to one side before cutting back across. Naturally, the benefit to this is that you can further fool your opponent into thinking you’re going a totally different way.

6. Stop and Turn

The Stop and Turn is a single-footed move which sees players perform a near 360-degree turn on the spot. It's another trick solely controlled via the right-stick, requiring a flick forward and then left or right, based on where you want to go.

7. El Tornado

In all likelihood, the El Tornado isn’t something you’ll come across very often in FIFA 18. That’s because it’s exclusive to just a few select players – Cristiano Ronaldo being the most prominent example. To do it, you’ll need to hold LB (L1) followed by a flick of the right-stick forward and then left or right.

Mastered that? Now celebrate!

How many fitness bars are there in a soccer match?

During a match, each player has two fitness bars: the instant bar, represented by a blue bar that goes red in extreme situations; and the accumulated, represented by a white bar overlaid by the blue bar. The first decreases during the sprints, ball disputes or other efforts, and then it regenerates. The second will gradually reduce over a game and serves as a ceiling for the instant fitness bar.

What happens if you leave a player injured in a game?

If you leave him to rest among the reserves for as long as the period of the injury, he will heal naturally and become available again.

How do fitness cards help?

The effect of fitness cards can be maximized if you have a few fitness coaches in your club. They help the players enhance their fitness through a bonus applied to the fitness cards’ final effect.
