How to control and move the keeper in FIFA 22
To manually control your goalkeeper when your opponent has the ball and is closing in on goal, switch on to them (Touchpad/View), and move towards the ball carrier slightly (L + Direction). You’ll need to be aware that you could get chipped, so position yourself marginally towards the near or far post just as the opponent looks set to shoot.
How to save and dive for penalties in FIFA 22
To save and dive for penalties in FIFA 22, you need to flick the right stick (R) in the direction that you want to dive. You can move the goalkeeper side to side using the left stick (L).
1. Positioning
Positioning the keeper, both in open play and penalties, is absolutely crucial. In open play, if the ball is positioned wider than where the goalpost is, you should position yourself at the post nearest to the ball.
2. Closing down attackers
In open gameplay, when in control of the entire team, if you hold Triangle/Y, the goalkeeper will run towards the opponent’s ball carrier. This is a great function to use because it reduces the opponent’s angle when shooting, often making lateral saves much easier and goalscoring much more difficult.
3. Timing your save
The best timing for saving shots, either for penalties or in open play, is to dive (R + direction) just before the opponent is about to shoot. A precise throw of the ball should be used when you have managed to defend a shot or picked up the ball and you want to quickly resume play by passing it to the nearest safe player.

In some situations, you will be forced to get the goalkeeper out of the goal line in order to prevent an enemy striker from performing a shot. If you want to perform this maneuver effectively, you have to wait for the right moment, preferably when the striker has released the ball too far or when the pass to the running player is too long.

There is no change here. When you're developing players in Career Mode, the best thing to do is score an "A" grade in the training sessions as early as possible.

One lingering issue in FIFA 22 is what happens when you change your formations on the fly. Go from balanced to attacking, and all of a sudden, your players' positions have changed. Now your winger is in attack and your striker is playing midfield. What gives?! Until FIFA resolves that problem, you need to change your team formations manually.
Ditch skill moves and adopt fake shots
Skill moves just don't work as effectively as they did before. And that's good for most players who don't sink hours into perfecting these difficult-to-master abilities. Defenders are more robust and players don't move with the same arcadey smoothness as they did before. Instead, try using a fake shot as you get near the box.
