If you've saved over the data, then it won't be possible to retrieve your old save. Career saves are store on your console/PC and so we aren't able to restore them.

So why is there no recovery system imbeded into the game so that you can retrive this file? I just deleted my Fulham career mode because I was so used to saving it to that save, and now it is gone.

Now this may be late but for future reference there is a way to retrieve lost data not long after you have deleted or overwritten it. And it's not on the game its on the console. I'm on PS4 so if you are on XBox One I'm not so sure but what you will want to do is make sure that you remember what time you accidentally overwrite your save.

I got a ps4 I can not find that data save online thing.. Could you find out exactly how to do it? I'm guessing the setting your on about is on the main ps4 settings? Did you go into something first ? Would be a great help . Thanks a lot !

Press PS button on controller, go to Settings -> Application Saved Data Management -> Saved data in Online Storage -> Download to system storage and here select FIFA16 and you will see all your saved files. Pick one from last time you played and select Download. When you will be asked to overwrite press ok.

I've seen a lot of FIFA 16 players not using this feature in Career Mode, because they feel it's too much work, or not worth the trouble. They'd be wrong.
4. Use Free Agents, a lot
Free Agents can be exceptionally useful, especially when you're starting a lower tier career. Their biggest utility, comes in the fact that you can sign them at any point in the game (i.e. both during and after the transfer season), and as such would be useful for filling any holes that are left due to injuries or suspensions.
5. Do an international career, even if you won't necessarily play it
Some of my greatest finds in the game have come from my international careers. Even if you get offered a random country, you can still simply go over every good player in the list, and get a fully detailed overview of their players without having the need to scout them. That might seem like a small bonus, but it certainly isn't.
6. Actively plan your team's playstyle, before even picking a team
Last but not least, let's go over a very important factor that isn't actually a part of the game; pre-planning. This doesn't have to be in-depth, but simply deciding what type of Football you want to play and what formation you start off with can be quite useful.
