I was born and raised in El Paso, TX, and moved to Colorado in 1992. Although I always envisioned myself in law enforcement, I attended Metro State College and moved up quickly in management at TCI Cable. I transitioned my career to Qwest/CenturyLink in 1998 and worked there for 15 years. I held several management positions within the company.

Goals & Achievements

Being on a Council is not a single person Team, but a Team of 7. Over the last 8 years on Council, I have served with some of the best leaders in the Denver Region. I could not accomplish these achievements without their support and the City Team to engage and deliver.

Responsible for the business & project development and planning of the Intelligent Transportation Systems that will save lives on our transportation network, improve the commuter experience and foster an "open for business" environment for innovation and advancement of technology in the State of Colorado. Responsible for all private-public partnerships at CDOT where organizations may need the use of the right-of-way.

At-Large City Councilmember

I am responsible for the policy making, strategies and budgets of the City. As a Council, we provide direction to the City Manager, City Attorney and Municipal Judge. I address community issues and concerns while protecting the health and safety of our citizens. Serve on additional committees, boards, commissions and authorities.

Director of Global Vendor Management

As the Director of Global Vendor Management, I lead and direct IT purchasing department managing 100 vendors valued at $80 M. I oversee the development and integration of IT storage, backup and vaulting services including transition, risk mitigation, quality assurance and contract adherence.

Director of Global Network Product Management

As the Director of Global Network Management, I led and directed a network product department where we maintained and grew $130 million revenue portfolio for global networking and carriers’ services.

As a Principal within Engineering, I provided guidance and support to leadership on complex transactions and opportunities to impact strategies. I am responsible for telecommunication engineering designs and capital expenditure for strategic business cases. I led network mergers and acquisitions and supervised cross-functional teams.

Biography

Fifer grew up in New York, graduating from Harvard College in 1977 with a magna cum laude degree in economics, and from Harvard Business School in 1979.
