FIFA 03 - Matteo Brighi (97)

One of, and if not the strangest FIFA rating of all time was that of Matteo Brighi in FIFA 03, rated 97 out of 99, who had a rating higher than players like Edgar Davids and Oliver Kahn.

FIFA 05 - Sebastian Deisler (90)

Another player regarded to be the next big star, Sebastian Deisler was dubbed as Germany's saviour during a rough period which saw Germany knocked out of EURO 2000, with the likes of Franz Beckenbauer even describing Deisler as “physically and technically the best in Germany”, hence his rating of 90 overall in FIFA 05.

FIFA 06 - Marek Mintal (88)

Marek Mintal was given a bizarrely high rating of 88 out of 99 in FIFA 06 - despite being rated at just 72 out of 99 in the previous year.

FIFA 07 - Cris (89)

Given the reputation of being a rugged, no-nonsense defender, Cris was at the peak of his career in 2007 when playing in France at Lyon, and EA decided to hand the Brazilian a rating of 89 overall in FIFA 07 - a rating which seems extremely high when compared to players with a similar rating.

FIFA 08 - Hans de Noteboom (89)

Appearing in FIFA 08 for the first time due to EA not having the licensing to the Netherlands national team, Hans de Noteboom was put into the game as an 89 rated striker - a player loosely based on the real-life attributes of Dutch striker Ruud van Nistelrooy.
