VOLTA ARCADE brings you a whole new way to play FIFA online with friends. It’s a weekend-only, free-for-all, lighthearted bash where you and up to three other players can compete across a series of all-new “Party Games”, including Foot Tennis, Dodgeball, and more. Here’s how it works:
How to play with friends in Volta game mode?
Select Squad Up to create a lobby, after which you can select Invite Friend from the list of players who are currently online. From there, you can play online. If you want to play couch multiplayer with your friends, go to the main menu and select a Volta match from Kick-Off. That is all you need to know to play friends in Volta game mode.
How do I get to 96 OVR in VOLTA Football?
We wanted to make sure when you come to VOLTA FOOTBALL, it’s fun right away. So one of the first things you’ll notice is that your avatar starts at 82 OVR and has 5* Skill Moves and 5* Weak Foot, so there's no ramp up time to feeling great on the pitch. You can still get your avatar to 96 OVR by using Skill Points you earn for every match you play.

Can You Play Volta With Friends Online? Similarly to playing online against other players, you can't jump into Volta and play with friends online. The only multiplayer functionality right now is the couch co-op that can be done locally.

Part of game development is listening and learning, so to close out the Pitch Notes I’d like to give a little shout out and explanation to some of the things that you won't see in VOLTA FOOTBALL anymore.
7 Keep Shots Grounded
The biggest thing to keep in mind when it comes to Volta mode is that the goal is not as big as the player might assume. This makes it important to manage the power of shots so that players blast them to kingdom come with no results whatsoever.
6 Intercept As Many Passes As Possible
Given the small play area of most Volta games, it's only a given that most players would want to dribble around and make short, concise passes to break down the opposition. This is where players need to get the upper hand and try to intercept as many passes as possible.
5 Lob Passes So That They Don't Get Intercepted
Of course, players aren't the only person who can intercept the opposition's pass and leave them in a tight spot. The same can happen to the player, leading them to frantically defend at a moment's notice so that they don't concede a cheap and frustrating goal.
4 Try And Keep Great Finishers In The Team
While there's no denying the fact that defending is one of the crucial aspects of Volta, keep in mind that Volta modes are generally very high-scoring games where most people would want to make their offense as efficient as possible. This is why players need great finishers in their team who can convert most chances with ease.
3 Learning And Using Skills Efficiently Is Very Useful
Using skills in FIFA is a great way to tackle opposing players with one player instead of having to pass around to find another opening. However, skills aren't easy to pull off, and players need to spend quite some time memorizing these skills so that they can actually rely on them in a game.
2 Teamwork Is The Key To Victory
This applies to pretty much every game in FIFA, but teamwork is especially important in Volta. Unless the player is a master of dribbling, it can be really challenging to use just one player to break through the defensive lines and score a goal in this mode.
1 Using The Walls To One's Benefit Is Highly Recommended
Of course, Volta mode would be incomplete without a few unique moves that can only be pulled off in a game of street football. This is where the walls that cover the play area come into effect.

Select Squad Up to create a lobby, after which you can select Invite Friend from the list of players who are currently online. From there, you can play online.
